Scott Nordi, Athletic Director, Lakes High School and 2017 WSSAAA Conference Chair

WSSAAA – Apr. 26, 2017

Logan Seelye’s message is clear and will hit home for any group. Logan recently addressed the Washington Secondary School Athletic Administrators Association (WSSAAA) at our state conference. He presented to over 250 working Athletic Administrators and had their full attention for the entire 45 minute presentation. Logan tells his story and shows how he lives his life in the “10 and 90” mindset. Through Logan’s engaging presentation he provides example after example of how he applies the concept of “10 and 90” to his daily life and leaves his audience inspired to live the “10 and 90” way. Logan left our entire group inspired and was a fitting closing general session speaker.

7th Grade College Visit Day

Pacific Lutheran University – Feb. 28 and Mar. 2, 2017

Logan gave two 15-min. “Ted-Talks” at our 7th Grade Visit Day at PLU on February 28th and March 2, 2017 to approximately 250 7th graders from Keithley Middle School (KMS). In this talks, Logan was able to give a brief glimpse into his life and shared his “10 and 90” mindset with KMS students. Logan related well with the students and never came across as preachy or boastful. He has a very natural way of speaking and has an inspriring message that is honest and vulnerable. He was also gracious in answering students questions, no matter how personal they were. I would highly recommend Logan as a speaker and would be happy to serve as a reference and answer questions about my experience working with him.

– Tiffany Lemmon
Assistant Director, PLU CCES

Logan served as the keynote speaker for Pacific Lutheran University’s annual 7th grade visit day and shared his amazing story with local Parkland Youth! Logan was very engaging and personable with the youth- watching the children’s eyes light up with curiosity and joy as he spoke was truly delightful! Logan is an incredible, touching speaker!

The Eighth Annual All Bethel Community Day, held on October 1, 2016, at Spanaway Lake High School, was honored to have Logan Seelye share his inspiring story with our community. Throughout the day Logan autographed his book and shared his special message with young and old alike. We had several Super Heroes at this event, but none of them came close to matching Logan’s powerful and inspiring message! He is my Super Hero!

If you get a chance to have Logan Seelye speak to your students, whether it be in an all school assembly, or smaller classroom setting, you should do it. Logan’s message really resonates with a wide variety of students. I’ve found my students referring back to his message over a month later when we talk about resiliency, having a growth mindset, and inspiration in general.

Great job! Our school board president and many other groups of the school had glowing feedback from your event, as if you couldn’t tell from the standing ovation! The audience was engaged, moved and motivated. I know your words impacted our kids. Thanks again for sharing your story.

– Jake Tyrrell

Hearing you speak was amazing. Your outlook on positivity and your life are inspirational. You put life in perspective, and helped me see things that I didn’t even knew existed. I do know that being positive is a great way to be, and after hearing your story, it reminds me that when I’m having challenges, and I’m dealing with difficulties, being negative and down about it will not get me anywhere. Thank you for coming out to the high school and speak. It was definitely something our students appreciated hearing, and I know they will take your words to heart and use them in their own lives.

College and Career Readiness Clerk

Tina Streleski, Health & Fitness / Leadership Teacher

We asked Logan to share his story to over 1200 students at Graham-Kapowsin High School. He absolutely captivated the students with his story. Logan has the ability to relate to his audience because of his honesty, authenticity and humor. Logan’s demeanor and positive attitude enabled our students to see that life is not about what happens to you, but how you react. Logan emulated the power of perseverance and showed our students the importance of setting goals and remaining positive through all seasons of life.

“Tea @ 3”

Central Washington University – May 11, 2016

Just had Logan Seelye as our guest speaker for our Tea @ 3 event here at CWU. He has such an inspiring story to tell. For me, it’s a reminder to think twice whenever something negative happens in my life – I can’t change the event, but I can certainly change my attitude about it. Thank you, Logan, for opening up and sharing your experience with us! Your words have empowered us to look at life with a positive attitude in every situation.

– Joanne Perez
Program Manager, Center for Leadership and Community Engagement, CWU

I had the opportunity to see one of my former students, Logan Seelye, speak about the “tackle that changed everything” during the CWU Center for Leadership and Community Engagement Tea @ 3 series this past week. Logan’s message was inspiring. He spoke of the power of positive intentions and how all of us can use this to overcome adversity…traveling the vicissitudes of life. Seize the positive not the negative. Life is a treasure, and no matter where the journey takes us, we have control over our attitude. Logan is a role model for all of us.

– Bob Lupton
Professor, ITAM, CWU

Bryan Hamblin, Teacher

North Star Elementary – Mar. 29, 2016

Logan Seelye came and presented his story and his “10 and 90” philosophy with the 2nd through 5th graders at our school. It was such a valuable and inspiring story to kids in today’s day and age. One parent stated, after their kids came home from school, was, “My daughter’s came home from school today and told me all about what Logan had to say! They were blessed by what he had to share! Thank you for having him come and speak!” Another parent stated that, “My son hasn’t stopped talking about Logan’s story since he got home from school. He is such an inspiration!”

A.V.I.D. (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Students

Franklin Pierce High School – Feb. 26, 2016

The students wrote thank-you letters, and here are a couple of the testimonials they wrote.

  • “Thank you for sharing your story and motivating my mindset. For the short time you talked to us, you greatly impacted my perception on life, thank you!”
  • “Thank you for telling us your story and being open. You have taught me that life can change in a blink of an eye, but whatever that change brings, you can find the positive side and to not give up.”
  • “Thank you for coming to our class. Your story is really inspiring. I learned that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it and surround yourself with positivity!”

Missy Widmann, Technology Instructional Coach, Bethel School District

Bethel SD Technology Conference – Feb. 16, 2016

Logan Seelye was an outstanding keynote speaker for our Creativity Tools Mini Conference in the Bethel School District. He is a warm and charismatic story teller, with a message that inspires change and a positive mindset. Anyone that is looking to promote a growth mindset in their school or institution, would benefit from reading Logan’s book or having him speak at their event.

Greg Farias, Health/Fitness Specialist

Edgerton Elementary – Feb. 12, 2016

Logan Seelye came and spoke and our students had the following to say about him and his story: “Very Inspiring”, “Shows what an individual can do when he-or-she never gives up”, “We should have more inspirational presentations, thank you Mr. Seelye!” Our staff also said: “Special Thank You To Mr. Seelye for sharing his journey with our students”, “Greatly appreciated Mr. Seelye’s presentation to our 6th graders. It comes at a very important time in our students 6th grade experience.”

Steve Dickerson, Head Men’s Basketball Coach

Pacific Lutheran University – Feb. 10, 2016

Logan Seelye’s presentation to our team was dynamic and “real” but most importantly it was inspirational. Logan is an example to all of what the human spirit can do when it remains positive and is supported by the strength of love. Hearing Logan speak about his reaction to “a tragic event in his life” and how he has turned it into a positive with his “10 and 90” philosophy of living should be life altering to all that hear his message! His book should be required reading to all those who think that they “have had a bad day”.

Susan Mackey, Campus Safety

Cedarcrest Junior High – June 2, 2013

I am Campus Safety at a middle school in the Bethel School District. My school invited Logan to come and speak to students about his life story. Logan was an exceptional speaker and did a great job engaging the students. Mind you, these are 11-15 year old students that do not usually have great attention spans. Logan’s power point allowed students to be visually engaged as he talked about what happened to him and how he over came the tragedy that struck him down at the same age as some of the students. He was one of the few speakers that we have had that actually inspired the students; when he was finished speaking they all wanted to come shake his hand and have a selfie picture taken with him. I have never witnessed anything like it before or since. I believe Logan has a gift for inspiring people and for making people want to do better things in life. The students raised over $800 dollars to help Logan with his medical needs. They could not stop talking about him. To have such young students give of themselves to his cause was an amazing event to see. This generosity spilled into the building and it was one of the best years we have had in this building.

Karl Hoseth, Teacher

Spanaway Lake High School – Apr. 01, 2012

We were so grateful to have Logan speak at our Leadership Lock-in at Spanaway Lake High School. He did a wonderful job of telling his inspirational story and delivering a meaningful message for our students. His presentation style was non-threatening and put everyone in the audience at ease. As he discussed his goals and dreams he provided hope and motivation for everyone in attendance. Many in attendance came up to me after Logan’s presentation and thanked me for having him speak. I would highly recommend Logan as a speaker for any school.
